There was a layoff at my job on Tuesday. Three employees were cut. I was one of them, unfortunately. I am not too upset about it because I have faith that things like this are meant to be. I have a feeling after all that I have been through in life, I can overcome this small stress.
Do you sometimes feel like things that are HUGE issues to others are very small stressors to someone that is a survivor? Sometimes it is the other way around. You hold so much in that small stress seems big!
I hope to find balance.

Cat i am sorry to hear you have been laid off..jobs are not like they use to be, secure and where you could look into the future and plan for it. Now a days you need to take day by day. Things do happen for a reason..even if it looks bad at first..you are highly intelligent and can do anything..there is something waiting for you out there and you have to close one door to get to the other. You are young and smart no one can hold you down! keep in touch
Very true! In the current state of things I find my situation to be a blessing. My children are off for school in a few weeks and instead of me working from 9 to 6 or later…I get to spend time with them, precious time! I am hot and heavy looking for another job, though. It’s funny how the survival mode kicks in. I came home the day I was terminated and immediately signed up for unemployment, sat down with my budget to see what I needed bare bones to live, contacted family and friends, then got on my computer and started putting in my resume.
Yesterday I went on an interview and was called by two other companies to schedule interviews later this week.
That’s super and if I keep my chin up and continue to pray, I know that I’ll find exactly what I need. And if it’s after the holidays, that’s okay, too. I’m going to make it, I’ve survived MUCH harder times than this.
