I think everyone needs to watch Gone with the Wind periodically during their lives. Every time I watch it, I gain new insights into my own life. I either get full of thankfulness for what I currently have or I get a strength to work harder for my family and situation.
Maybe it’s just me. I think movies can really affect how you view the world. Maybe your movie isn’t GwtW or my other favorite, Girl, Interrupted…maybe your movie is different.
Do you have one that you watch and it inspires you or affects you in your real life?
MomCentral has introduced me to the new line of Special K crackers by sending me a sample box of them and asking me to tell you great readers about them. I was sent the Italian Tomato and Herb flavored crackers and was surprised at the hearty taste that came out of just one cracker. They also come in multi-grain.
I tasted a few plain, then I went to raid the refrigerator to get my cheese I recently bought while out at a Whole Foods in Dallas. I grabbed the “seaside cheddar” and quickly had a great match. The crackers were good plain but offered a great flavor beside the cheese, too. I could see these being good for snack trays when friends drop in for a visit.
These come in 90 calorie pouches, too, which give you the option to take them to work for a mid-morning snack (if you’re like me, it’s a nice day if I snack before lunch, I don’t eat as much and I feel more satiated) and would be fantastic beside a glass of water with lemon.
So the facts, for healthy concious types, one serving equals 17 crackers and only contains 90 calories. Plus, each serving has 8 grams of whole grains. And, they are delicious!
iPhone Takes Over The World
I recently got an opportunity to switch from my Blackjack II to an iPhone. I wasn’t sure if I would even like the iPhone after reading so many “cons” about it. I write about gadgets and frequently get to use mobile phones before they are out on the market. I don’t have a connection to Apple so the iPhone remained one of those phones I had to read reviews about and form an opinion based on that.
I don’t like to do that. I’m a hands-on type with gadgets. Then, a friend of mine made a fatal mistake. I’ll quote what he said, “I think I’m going to cancel my ATT account and stop using my iPhone. It makes no sense having two accounts.”
That was my chance! I told him that my account was up for an upgrade in February and I was thinking of getting the 16GB iPhone…but I was hesitating because I wasn’t sure if I’d like it. He handed the iPhone over and told me to use it to see if I liked it. Days later he insisted I just keep it since he wasn’t going to renew his ATT account.
So here I sit. An iPhone in hand and countless hours spent in the App store, hacking the phone, unhacking the phone, adding music, taking music off, checking e-mails…and there is even an application that will allow me to blog from the phone.
I’m doomed! But I have a big smile on my face so I’m not too worried. I haven’t missed the Blackjack II yet, either.
And then I read this:
“Lemonade Stand, a remake of the popular Apple II game of the same title, is now available on the iPhone (@ iTunes Store). Everything I know about business I learned from playing Lemonade Stand.”
Further proof that the iPhone will take over the world. (Do you remember that game? I loved it!)
So far, all is a success! I reactivated my plugins and hope all is going well. If you find issues on the site, please bring them to my attention.
