I’ve found where I would like to live…and now I just need to keep myself patient. School starts again in August and I am looking to move when it’s best for all of us, which might just be after Summer is over. I’ll see how things go, but right now the target date is in September or October.
I have a few choices but the area I like the best puts me and the children close to my parents, close to their schools and in a safe area. That’s a big deal to me. It also allows us to have my daughter’s cat with us and we’ll have our dog on weekends (weekend visits?) while she stays with my parents off and on during the week while I work.
Things are moving right along. I’ve accomplished so much in a year, so being patient is a huge thing for me right now as I’d like to rush things, but that isn’t always the best way to plan things, is it?
And, to celebrate how smart I feel, I was asked to network a laptop today at work and I accepted, of course! As I started working on it I realized the laptop was in Chinese. I’m all proud of myself because I was able to use my memory and work on the system like I would any other…and fix the issue and set it up, even with it all in a different language. It was a challenge and great fun. It’s always good to learn something new, right?
I’ve been hunting and I didn’t realize how tiring it can be to try to find a home. I know it’s time and I also know that I will be successful, but I’m finding that emotionally and physically, this takes its toll.
Looking up listings, visiting homes, making decisions, budgeting…it all adds up to me wanting to get extra sleep at night.
I have been trying to be smart and head to bed early during the week so that I’m not as tired over the weekend. It’s helping and I find I don’t feel I need any “naps” or “cat naps” when I do it this way. This week I failed, though, and went to bed late a few nights during the week. I ended up napping at 6pm tonight and now it’s 11pm and my internal clock is probably off. I’m not that tired!
I’ll force myself to rest, though, because it’s time. And, I have high hopes that I will find a good home for me and the children to settle into soon. I look forward to that. I think they do, too.
It will be one year (tomorrow) since I left Colorado to come to Texas to visit my family. I’m still here!
I’m glad things worked out to where I could find happiness and hope. I miss Colorado, as everyone well knows, but I’m thankful that I have the support, my family, and a positive outlook. I’m thankful that I’m finding my strength again–seeing ahead–not dwelling on the past.
I’m blessed. I will celebrate this day instead of allowing it to bring sad thoughts. I will reflect on the good and refuse to relive the bad. I will choose my day from the moment I wake up tomorrow to the time I lay down to sleep…and the days after.
I’m going to make it.
You all know that there are times when I write about products or items that cross my path. One of those items recently was the AccuClean air filter by American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning. We all have started heading outdoors and allergens and pollen are bound to affect you, with itchy eyes and sneezing, what can you do?
Indoor air is five times more polluted than outdoor air, but this probably doesn’t come as any surprise to those of us with allergies. On the days that I see more activity outdoors on lawns, I can tell the difference in people that I come in contact with. It must be frustrating to feel this way during such pretty days! My son has allergies that can truly get him down. My mother is affected, too.
To help with this, you can utilize an air filtration system and take steps to prevent annoying allergies. Plug-in air cleaners only work in small spaces of the house and the AccuClean is made to cover your whole home. It removes virtually all allergens, up to 99.98% of them, and it also removes more than 99% of the common flu virus.
Easy to clean with just a vacuum or quick wash of the reusable filter, and the system comes with a 10-year limited warranty with an additional 5-year parts limited warranty. It claims to be 100 times more effective than standard 1″ throwaway filter or ionic-type room appliances. Take a look at the site and read more details. Sounds like pure relief to me!
At work the other day I was asked to make reservations for a flight trip. I called the airlines and worked on the plans. I was using the automated service (because you don’t have to pay the $25 fee unless you talk to a human) and it came to a point where I had to say and spell the passenger name.
I said their first and middle name and the last name came up and I spelled it out. The computer didn’t hear me so it asked me to repeat the last name by spelling it. I did. Then it said, yet again, that it did not hear me and would I please spell the last name. So I did. Louder this time.
Then, a reservation agent came on the line and said, “I see you might be having trouble with this reservation, could you please spell the passengers last name for me, is it S U?” and I said, “no” and spelled it louder, one last time.
At that moment I realized that I was raising my voice a bit for me to be in an office environment. It was very unlike me and I’m sure my neighbors were wondering why I kept yelling the following into the phone, over and over again, loudly.
F U!
Yes, the last name of the passenger was Fu and I had been yelling, repeatedly, F U!!
