MPD In The News, Former Dallas Cowboy

That’s right, I heard the buzz about a new book coming out with regards to someone’s fight with MPD in their lives.  Apparently Herschel Walker is acknowledging that he, too, battles with the diagnosis of MPD and has for some time carried this with him.  His book is due out in August and I look forward to seeing what his views are and what treatments he reached out for.  I have no idea if he chose integration or my path of working with it…

Every case of MPD is so different, I don’t see them ever being able to streamline the treatments.  Maybe I’m too broad with my view but I have met so many via this blog and in my personal life…each story is so very distinctive.  Each struggle unique to the person.  I love the idea but I’m sure therapists get a bit frustrated at the vast differences we each have.

    Hi Cat

I read an article yesterday, about Mr. Walkers book…and I too am looking forward to reading it.

I agree with you about treatment. I think all treatments for anything, whether that be MPD, bipolar or anything else…needs to be streamlined and individualized. We may all have the same thing going on…but we are all so very different. I hope that the powers that be work like that. I dont like the labeling, and treating everyone like they are all the same.

a read about the article too and it is interesting. it is interesting because this is a man talking about his experiences. i agree with you though that everyone’s experience is different and the treatment varies so much.

am interested in reading it and then going from there …

I read the book….these are OLD posts. I found it ridiculous. There was no evidence I could see. I got the feeling he wanted to ‘blame’ all his bad decisions on MPD as a cop out. Anyone else feel left flat by his ramblings?
