My Dream Vehicle

  • Posted on July 31, 2006 at 2:34 pm

My son reads Car and Driver Magazine and loves looking at the new vehicles coming out. I read a review on a site I write for and absolutely fell in love with a new Toyota. Not because it’s new but because it’s so practical for where I live.
While visiting Texas I was going to test drive the vehicle but ran out of time. It’s the FJ Cruiser. I want one in VooDoo Blue and my husband says after we buy this cabin, our dream home, we’ll work things out to get me that FJ. I’ve always driven older model cars and I’ve been very happy with most everything I have had. Ok, maybe not HAPPY but THANKFUL.

I’m reading reviews and scouring the Internet but I keep finding that I like the car more and more. I think I’m in love! :) Have you seen one yet? I can climb rocks and mountain passes and still get the groceries home on time.

What is your favorite vehicle and do you own it yet?

click&commentday(monday).jpgPut this on YOUR blog and get your renter some clicks each Monday. Encourage others to comment, visit your renter, comment, visit their renter and continue to find new blogs that they’ve never read. It’s a great “once a week” regimen to catch up on reading blogs and bring new readers to YOUR blog.

Click & Comment has helped me find many new friends in the blog world. Add a header from this site and let others know you are participating. Now, add your link, comment and visit my renter…I will visit your blog and spread the word!

If they don’t have a renter, use the blogroll! Spend time ‘clicking and commenting’ and bring your site commenters, too.

Mister Linky is back up and Click & Comment is still going strong!

Noi’s Sick & I’m In Pain

  • Posted on July 30, 2006 at 4:33 pm

My renter, Noi, is suffering through some feverish times. Noi is from Singapore and has an excellent blog to share. She rented from me while I was still on vacation, but she still has some time there in my sidebar. I’d love for you to go visit her while I sit and suffer.

Here’s a quick excerpt from her blog where she asks if she’s materialistic in wanting to get her business successful:

To sponsor the stray cat home at Pasir Ris. I have always wanted to volunteer in the cat home. These kind volunteers at the cat home now, use their own money for the cats food and medicine. All cats need love.
To adopt a few orphans and treat them like my own kids.
2. Time
To spend time with family, children, husband, parents and not with the boss. All children deserves full time parents.

Let her know what you think of her dreams…read the rest of them first!

Why am I suffering, you ask? (and if you didn’t ask that, I’m going to have a pity party anyhow)

I was cleaning house today and decided to wash down the bathroom door and do some basic disinfecting. I had a towel and I was leaning over to do just that–when the door jamb (metal thingers that hate me) jumped out at me and ripped my fingernail up off my finger.

Impossible, you say? I might have embellished some. *mumbles* ANYHOW it hurt so bad I think I went into shock because later, after it sank in and I had it all bandaged up, I cried. It has been throbbing all day so I finally put it on ice and I’m attempting now, to type. My stomach hurts the pain is so bad. I feel like a wimp but I just read that your fingers hold some serious nerve endings…

I’m hoping a few days of pampering it will heal it enough I can actually look at it. I have it open ended with some tape now to induce that very thing.

HEAL so I can blog! :d

Hummingbird Heatwave

Well, I have to admit that this vacation was good for me. The time away was excellent and yet tiring. I read what Tracy over at Winged Emotion posted about needing a vacation from vacation and I sneered…but that was only 4 days into mine. I have to say she’s right! (don’t gloat now, Tracy–and thanks for the comment–do you really miss me?)
I’ve returned home and will have company for the rest of the weekend. Monday will be where I start up full force again. I love posting to my blog because it gets so many feelings and emotions out of my head. I have LOTS to write about but I have to get it all organized.

I thought I could go through my trip days but many of them were full of shopping. You see, where I live, there is no Wal-Mart. I’m thankful, but at times there are small things I need that I have to wait for. We don’t have a mall near us. We don’t have stores where you can buy clothing before school starts–unless you count the tourist traps that charge $200 for a bathing suit. I have no problem with buying nice clothes that cost a little more but that’s not what our town typically stocks. I do a lot of online shopping.

I also felt I could have posted more during my time away. I had computers all around me the whole time…but I am glad I took the time away. I went to a water park with my two children, took time to visit my brother and his family overnight, visited restarants I won’t get to visit until I vacation again because, once again, we just don’t have a Chili’s or Applebees near us. It’s a good hour and a half to find one, and by then you want to just stay overnight in a neighboring town. That’s becoming a fantastic vacation idea now.

We are planning a camping trip next weekend but it’s in preparation for winter. We need to cut firewood for our wood stove that heats our house. We use about 5 cords of wood and for good measure we cut six. We could pay someone else to do that for us but we really enjoy the family time we get with our children when we camp out, cut firewood, load it as a family and return home.

I am thankful I was able to vacation but one of the first things I wanted to see, besides my husband of course, were the hummingbirds! I refilled my feeders and sat outside this morning in the 55F weather, coffee in hand, enjoying some fresh mountain air. I missed home. I missed my husband (I traveled with the children and he stayed behind this time due to time constraints because he had just hired a few new guys and had to train them) and I missed my mountains.

Oh, yeah, I missed my blog too–and all the blogs I visit! I honestly cannot wait for Click and Comment Monday this coming week. I really want to set aside time to surf.

I thank you all for continuing to read up on things while I was absent. I missed you!
