I am an admitted pen klepto. I can’t help myself! When I see a beautiful pen with sleek lines that I just know would feel good in my hand…and draw smooth inked lines…I just want to take it for my own. Ok, so maybe I went too far with my description, but I know I’m not alone. Just the other day, over 40 businesses grouped together at an undisclosed fairground location and gave away pens smothered in their company name. I know, from this evidence alone, that I am not the only pen kleptomaniac.
Here are a few of the choice pens I gathered: (CONTEST INFORMATION BELOW)
Doctor’s offices, therapists, home builder shows…it’s endless! And yes, as you see above, the last two photos display a promotional pen from the HBO Special entitled ‘Six Feet Under’. It comes in a nice black bag and is shaped like an undertakers shovel. And guess what?! I have TWO of them and I’m giving ONE away as a special prize.

Not only am I a pen klepto, but I have to avoid the pen aisles at the store so I don’t spend outragous amounts on new pens! I’m glad I’m not totally alone.

Heh… I expect pens to be stolen but I do admit to trying to keep one on me at all times, generally of high quality.
It’s just so easy to take a pen and not even think about it.
I am such a pen klepto. I think it really came from working in a pharmacy. Pens were very scarce because we were in a major chain drugstore and they freaked if we took pens from the floor, so we just hoarded the pens that the reps gave us. If you left a pen on the counter for more than about 3.2 seconds, it was gone.

got here from “pointless drivel”… but what i really wanted to comment on was the allure of pens. although it’s not common to have a pen fetish or even urge to confiscate, the desire created by a sleek writing device with clever design, flashing lights or special ink. mmmmmmm, yes, a good pen is like, well, sex in the hand and onto the paper…
